He will be sadly missed. Still playing at 70 and was found dead after he failed to turn up at a gig. Will play some Pentangle and his later stuff on Sunday.

That is really sad, I saw him a few months ago and he was in good form, his playing was still excellent.

Bert Jansch died a few years ago and now his old mucker John Renbourn has joined him, he will be on my play list tonight and tomorrow. :(

Oh, this is getting too much - so many of my musical heroes passing away in so short a space of time - I am feeling very sad now.

Can only echo what others have posted. One of my early inspirations. A brilliant musician.

Far, far too many from my youth are disappearing at the moment.

so Jansch and Renbourne now gone.

Sad day, although I didn't know of his post-pentangle work.

RIP Mr Renbourne.

Wow shocking. I grew up with Renbourne and Jansch and went to see them often when a student.

Makes me feel old. And sad.

RIP

This year just keeps taking great people, another sad loss to the world of music.

What a bugger, I had Child of Time on only yesterday. Both John and Bert now gone, what a sad day. Thanks for the WAC link Steve, I'll give it a play tomorrow.

Sad news indeed. I remember practicing 'Judy' until my fingers almost bled as a teenager. He was a big inspiration. What he could do in the days before super slinky and super low gauge strings was magical. Here he is in more recent times...

I'll have to dust off the old Levin Goliath later and have another go...
