This morning I had a message on my profile from @Itsgonebang (an OTA engineer) to say that Steve Williams who along with his brother owned and ran One Thing Audio, has died. Despite appearances he was only in his 60s but had been unwell for several years.
Its been nearly a year now since I last saw Steve whilst trying to get my 989s sorted, but even back then he didn't seem well but kept going and was always happy and very helpful during my 2 Yrs of ownership and problems with the 989s.
Another great character gone from this wonderful obsession we enjoy.
RIP Steve.

Very sad. I met Steve on more than a few occasions and he was always enormously helpful and free to give some of his (enormous) knowledge about ESLs and other electronics. I know he had been unwell for quite some time, but it never dented his enthusiasm or willingness to get 'hands on'.

A great loss to our hobby and of course to his family and friends.

I met Steve on a couple of occasions ferrying Lurch's and Wizmax's Electrostatics back and forth. May I offer my condolences to friends and family.

I'm devastated, I used to ring Steve every so often for a chat both boys helped me out on several occasions, latterly with my OTA Quad 57's.
My respects to Ron and the family.
RIP...

Very sad to hear this a few weeks ago. Just like to echo the thoughts already mentioned. I dealt with Steve a number of times and met him twice. Once when sightseeing on the way to the Scalford show. Ron and Steve invited us in early on a Saturday morning and gave a grand tour of the house and workshop. It was typical of them to think nothing of 3 Irish men calling to their door early in the morning looking for a tour. I met him last year when collecting a pair of 63's I had bought from Steve. Like those above I was a bit shocked meeting Steve as his health had very clearly deteriorated. I had a lot of discussions and purchases of extra bits from Steve over the following months and he was and always was a pleasure to deal with. Tragic that he has been taken at such a young age.

Very sad news, so many of the innovators and great designers and engineers pass away without recognising the human element behind the company.
Condolences to his family, colleagues and friends.
