TMS2 bearings
I have an original Roksan Xerxes/XPS-III/DSU that I have owned since new in 1987. Purchased from The Cornflake Shop. W1.
Very early model, It would have been assembled by the founder of Roksan Touraj Moghaddam at this date (see last picture for serial number).
Not used regularly since I since late 2007, when I purchased my Roksan TMS2. I have set up and tested the turntable. However, I set up the Xerxes last week to make sure all was well. I installed a Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua: It sounded excellent. I was extremely surprised just how good it sounded compared to the TMS2. I expected it to be a very poor comparison, but it wasn't embarrassed at all
Serviced by Touraj Moghaddam himself (founder of Roksan) and was fitted with a 2mm "shim kit" to eliminate the inevitable "plinth sag" that all Xerxes owners are aware of. It had new version main-bearing housing fitted, and the new TMS2 ball-bearings were also fitted. (invoice available)
It has a standard Roksan Tabriz arm (fitted by Roksan).
The cartridge fitted at present is Dynavector Te Kaitora Rua (see pictures) and is not for sale
However, I have a Goldring Elite for sale (under separate negotiation)
