A friend of mine, not on this forum, has some Ruark Talisman speakers, which are over 25 years old.

His front end is a Rega deck, plus Rega amplification, all relatively newish.

He’s been thinking about upgrades, generally happy, but as with all of us, always looking for more.

However, before he embarks on that path, with regard to his speakers, they are of a certain age, can they be serviced and if so, what would that entail?

I know the brand well. Been using their high-end range since the late 90's. They were really well made. He used to be a furniture /cabinet maker and his speaker cabinets were exemplary.
I see no need to do anything if they are undamaged and sound clear with a bit of volume to test them.
If they are one owner and in excellent condition, I would buy as seen without question.

My pal has a pair maybe that old. I re capped them at his request, I heard no audible difference afterwards. As said, they are a decent, well made speaker.
