These cables were previously advertised alongside a pair of Furutech balanced interconnects which sold quickly and so I thought I would now relist these separately.
This very nice pair of balanced interconnects are fitted with Neutrik XLR connectors at each end. The cables are in excellent cosmetic and operational condition and are very well regarded in terms of sonic performance which is hardly a surprise bearing in mind the reputation of their designer.
Formerly known as 'The Black' - the Blue range of cables use a rather special design of cable geometry. We start off with a pair of solid oxygen-free copper cores of a very high purity, and encase them in two separate cables, first with a thick dielectric layer, then with a copper foil shielding and finally with a second shielding layer of densely woven fine copper strands. The result is that both of our two inner conductors (ground and signal) each has its own dedicated double-shielding completely surrounding it. This arrangement is effectively a 'balanced' connection (i.e. the signal ground and outer shield are electrically separate), meaning that it is perfectly suited to balanced connections with XLR plugs.
This construction does mean the cables are a little stiffer than many others although they are very easily shaped if there is limited space behind equipment.
They are being offered for sale following a move from balanced to single-ended equipment in my system. These cables are not supplied new in fancy boxes and packaging, the main emphasis being on the quality of materials used in the cables themselves. They will, however, be posted in a suitable box.
These cables are currently priced at £275 for a 1 metre pair.
Asking £135 plus postage.
