However, 'folk songs' is a broad thing. Could be traditional folk songs; folk songs like the 1930s in the U.S.; or the 'folk revival'. I can't even classify folk, by rights it is the 'people's music' so Justin Bieber is folk music.

Heh, hence my original post. I like people like Frank Turner and Sun Kil Moon, but they couldn't be more different from what the average Joe Public would possibly regard as folk music !
