Some people refer to the YouTuber GoldenSound as GoldenShower.
Ah I see. I’d trust a GoldenSound review more than a iWii one, but anyway.. I have a Topping Dx3 and am quite happy with it. This D90 is much more expensive though. What makes you want it so bad?

I am really enjoying iWii reviews these days. He seems a pretty genuine guy. GoldenSound isnt putting out enough reviews for my liking.

I just like the sound of the D90LE based on the review and it would be a step up over my Chord Mojo.

It would be an interesting comparison - a lot of people rate the Mojo very highly as a standalone DAC.

Well yes bit it's 6 years old now and things have moved on. There's a Mojo 2 now. Also the Mojo is a bit awkward for system use. I've used it in mine for 5 years.

I've read reports of issues with Topping DACs.
The Topping PA5 amplifier is proving troublesome, there’s a thread on ASR where it’s reported that around 30-35% of the PA5’ have serious issues! Last I checked Topping weren’t exactly reaching out to their customers either. What is most disturbing about that thread is the excuses offered up by very partisan fanbois that include owners Shorting the amp and it’s not meant to be turned of daily.

My advice, don’t be a early adopter of the latest offerings. Sit tight until it’s been tested thoroughly by users.
I suspect many of these products are rushed to sale without thoroughly being tested. Too many bugs and issues arise that never get fixed by these companies…and even some ASR members are fed up with the race for higher SINAD and bugger everything else…..

My Soncoz DAC hasn’t given me any trouble whatsoever over the last few years and I have enjoyed it immensely but next DAC I buy will be from closer to home I think.

I had a Mojo for headphone use but never used it in the main system - awkward as you say and I just couldn't be bothered.

It annoys me that Chord haven't released a desktop version. It would sell well. I guess they think it may impact sales of the Qutest...

Interesting as I was considering the PA5.

I agree about hanging fire to see if any problems arise, also it will give you time to save up for a Soekris ;)

I suppose it depends on what you expect.
A lot of owners won’t have them very long before snapping up the next high SINAD product so longevity probably isn’t uppermost in some purchasers minds, it’s worth noting that many owners have purchased more than one PA5 for their own use due to the review on ASR and no doubt other forums and remember, 65% of
users are happy so there’s hope;)
