Shipping speakers from US to Europe

I remember that some members had their largish speakers shipped from the States, but I can't find the related threads.. Anyway, I'm thinking of importing some big and heavy monsters from the US to Germany, but I'm struggling to find a reliable quote for full service. Ideally, I' d like to get a company pick up the speakers from the seller, pack/crate and deliver them to my home address or /worse case/ I' d pick them up from the airport.

I know this is a UK forum, but I'm sure same companies will operate both in London and Frankfurt... so, I'm looking for a recommendation for a reliable company and a ballpark figure of the price for the service. I'm thinking of buying some big Klipsch or Snells.

As of 11th August there is a thread in the dealers classifieds named 'Courier Delivery' started by gti. This is someone who is offering courier services. It's down in page 5 at the moment, but have a read of his services he maybe able to help, or suggest.

I bought camera gear from a US auction house (Everard) around two years ago and the auction house used UPS, I think, to box and pack the the items and charged me for the service.

Think from memory the charge was about $50 plus all of the other charges, import taxes and delivery charges etc.

I had a very large pair of Zu Audio Speakers ( 40 kg each ) shipped from the USA to the uk with no problems.

You have to set up an account and then get your seller to ship to Bonvu and they will then re-pack very carefully to enable safe transit which they arrange, along with much better custom rates etc.

As i said very professional,highly recommended company !
