Something around 20 cms would be ideal.

I've seen the Targets but not keen on the design.

I have Partington Heavi 2's which are more my bag, these at 20 cm's would be ideal.

Anything out their bar the Targets?

a 2 x 2 stack of bricks? Deader than a dead thing and cheap as horsemeat pie. WAF factor hard on zero of course:D

tell her its "shabby chic". Use vintage post-industrial reclaimed bricks. And stick everything together with blu-tack

Depending - on your flooring - (as has been implied above), often superb solid e.g. house-bricks suitably cemented/coloured with maybe blu-tac/metal hex nuts (3 per speaker base etc) are cheaper/better than overpriced alternatives.

Your ears/your environment/your b.balance - enjoy ...

Unhalfbricking.

Fine not overpriced metal-framed thingies can be bought/installed suitably.

blue engineering bricks are the densest. Will do the job well, stick the speakers to them etc

Thanks for the offer Richard but i'm running with the bricks idea :^

Yep going with a blue staff sandwich with 15/20mm slate cut to size top and bottom and all held together with petite pois sized bluetack bits

Thanks for the suggestions.
