You never thought you'd see one for sale! Now, to follow on from my Leak sandwich ad, comes a once in a lifetime opportunity to obtain a rare treasure!
Sold in the 1960s, this Sinclair Matchhbox-sized radio got me through many a dull lecture, with the wire running up my sleeve to the (mono-of course) earpiece whilst at Manchester Art College.Comes with wristband -which was rivetted on backwards so I had to selotape the back piece on-couldn't slide it.
Of course, it doesn't work now, but it's a piece of hifi history.
If my friend at 'Wanted Records' Bristol doen't snap it up later today when I visit, it'll be availbable here.
I used to have a pair of Sinclair mono amp boards too from same period but haven't found them....oh, and a pre-amp.
Downsizing never was so miniscule! 4.5 x 3.1cms(1+3/4 x 1+2/8th inches) DSC02013.JPG

I remember the Sinclair Micromatic- built it out of a kit. Listened to it during history lessons at school. Interesting circuit. Can you still get the batteries for it?

£2.19+6p Kit; £3 19+6p assembled.
At a time when £12 pw was a wage!.
a third of your wages!
I tried some batteries but it made no noise, though the earpiece wire may be severed..
One went on t'bay for £125, I see, so....
it's going to charity anyway.
