I am looking to sell my current system (alto mk one, epos m12) to get a smaller system as I move into a smaller room. Any thoughts on small amps to go with sqb touch and probably some 2010i?

Initial thought was dm39, but don't really need any of the functionality due to touch as source, Cyrus could be a goer but would need to be older due to cost restrictions, around two hundred max, so contemplating the teac ref amps.

Thanks for any help

T-Amp, Rega Brio (Original model), Temple Audio Bantam Gold or that Audio Innovations Alto (not heard it but gets a good rep) would be worth a look.

The Cyrus Straight Line is supposed to be a better cheap Cyrus amp, had the Cyrus One and it was Pants IMO.

You beat me to it! A superb amp, sounds very dynamic and smooth, very very well built and when you see inside it, it's really not a cheap lump either.... whether it's mine or not, should be high on a listen list.

The Cyrus streight line is a belting amp. A lot better than anything else thay made at the time. It will drive most speakers with ease.

Virtue 1 amplifier. I use one in my kitchen with SBT and a pair of 2010i's

I am only using the DAC as I have two digital sources, the SBT and the TV

Thanks all so far this is great food for thought. Need to try and work out what true budget is based on what I may get for my existing bits n bobs, but at one ten for the topping it looks very tempting.

Anyone in uk distributing the virtue?

Any thought on the teac stuff? Just got a look about them I really like.

If you don't actually have the speakers already why not get some small actives? Just use the digital volume on the sbt (I do this for my main system with bigger actives).

If you're dead set on the t/d amp route then check out temple audio- I owned the bantam gold previously

Not to push a point here....(especially as my TP60 amp is sold...) but that's actually a really good idea - I swear by the things now as many know - THESE are awesome and stupid money....

It was actually mini actives that got me thinking about downsizing the system, everyday, for four days, I walked past these http://www.audiopro.com/products/addon-five in stockholm and thought how nice they looked, even got the so's approval in white too.

So actives are in the mix too if can get the sound, and look, am after. The new ones of the above arrive in uk towards end of June so may give them a spin.
