Hi All
About 20 years ago my fav uncle gave me his old 301 mounted on a bit of ply he had removed from his hi fi unit. He had moved on to CD.
About 5 years ago I fished the old 301 out of the garage loft and made a birch ply layered plinth mounted a RB300 I had and bought a new old stock Empire cart. All good ... the 301 is in really good nick bless her and sounds sweet.
Anyway I remember 20 years ago it had an arm and cart (Decca FFss) and it worked ok as I remember rigging up something temporary and thinking it sounded ok. Into the garage loft it went.
Today I was reading up on the FFSS and suddenly realised I had not seen the old arm and cart for many years ....... thinking I had possibly thrown it out I was not in a happy mood this aft.
When I got home I turned the garage loft and the house loft inside out trying to find it ..... no luck ... as I thought ....it had probably gone and been thrown out during a garage loft purge. . (found a long forgotten Glanz cart during my search though).
Anyway ..... still fed up at the sheer waste of it ... I went back out to the garage and had another look ...... lurking in an old cardboard box in the loft was this ..........
Happy Days ........
