Anyone on here familiar with the Biotracer arm. It's a So y special with and small dia tube and I'm guessing it's ULM design as it's from the Kate 70s early 80s when they were still quite fashionable

My question is does anyone have an idea of what compliance cartridge I should be looking at fitting to it? As the 2M blue seems to be struggling with bass / low frequencies, which it didn't when fitted to the XP2.

BTW it came with a SONY XL88 MC cartridge which needs a new cantilever and tip replacement. I've tried the usual suspects but with no joy, anyone on here have a suggestion.

The XL55 and 88 cartridges are mostly unrepairable unless it’s just a new tip, as their internals are potted and so they cannot be dismantled for repair.

As to the PS-X600, due to the active damping, it should be fairly agnostic to cartridge compliance. Might be worth downloading the service manual and checking its internal settings and adjustments. My old PS-B80 got a bit finicky about tracking but the servo adjustments turned out to be a bit off.

Setting everything correctly not only fixed this, but made it sound massively better!

Then go for it! It’s a fabulous cartridge.
