Wanted Speaker cables - 25 meters total

Following a change of speaker position I will need 25m of cable. Strongly considering the Van Damme 6mm hifi type but before I pull the trigger, has anyone got a spare reel of decent copper cable tucked away?

Ultimately this will be cut into 7m and 4m lengths (bi-wired), so pre cut options at or about these lengths considered.

I've got some long lengths of Belkin Pure AV PC-OCC hybrid strand cable I could measure then if interested. It really is a good cable.

If you are still after speaker cable I have 31 metres of Roksan HDC 035 speaker cable fitted with banana plugs. It breaks down as: 2 x 19 ft - 4 inches lengths, 1 x 31 ft - 8 inches length and 1 x 32 ft - 2 inches length. All told it works out to about 31 metres in total length and cost me around £900 retail from Richer Sounds back in the day. Was supposed to be for a 5.1 home theatre set up which sadly never really got off the ground. All works good as I recently used it to bi-wire my speakers when I was having my usual speaker cable re-terminated. I want to sell it all in one hit for £300.

Thanks for the offer. I have bought Van Damme hifi 6mm which seems ok, if somewhat ‘grey’ sounding. Do you know if the Roksan cable is silver plated copper?

Hi,

I had the same thing with some Van damme speaker cable I tried as a sampler, found it a bit "flat" sounding with no bass definition. Good power cables though, providing you go to the Mainstream Hybrid line. Tried the QED SIlver Anniversary Bi-Wire cable which I liked very much apart from it being a little on the "bright" side of neutral, but it was around £50-60 per metre and like your good self, I was after 20-odd metres of the stuff so it was just too expensive. God knows how much it would be now with the price of silver hitting the stratosphere. My best option price-wise and sound-wise though, was the Roksan HDC-035. It's a tinned OFC Copper mix and I found that it had good bass, and treble and mids were not "bright" or harsh. All-in-all it worked very well and was very good to excellent with a pair of Mordaunt Short Si Pearls standmounts I used for a while in my hifi set-up. Put my B&W CDM-1NT standmounts to shame. My cable is fitted with Roksan Z-Plugs that are gold-plated, although they are no longer manufactured by Roksan; nor is the speaker cable actually.
