Noted this recent video which, to me at least, presents probably the most balanced discussion on the merits and drawbacks regarding different speaker cable designs i have seen yet on youtube :-
like Dicky Burton and Lizzy Taylors love affair mine with hifi holds no bounds.Lol, windup.
No one from Wales spends £21k on speaker cable.
It's the world we live in, I don't see the point of getting bent out of shape over it.Richard Burton on Elizabeth Taylor: "I taught her about beer, she taught me about Bulgari."
Putting on my hard hat and asbestos jacket....Gosh - spending more on cables than your speakers sounds a little bizarre, but I suppose everyone can spend their money as they wish!
My £34K list price speakers are fed via 3.5 m solid silver cables that costs me a few hundred quid. Because people I truly respect and who are professionally involved with the brand of speaker I'm using have highly recommended them, I may change soon to Duelund Dual DCA 12 Gauge multistrand copper in cotton and oil cables. Hestitant as this cable is £27 per meter plus connectors plus VAT and P&P, so maybe £350 for a pair plus £100 for long jumper cables. Dare I take the plunge? Peter
Here's one for your collection then, NeilJust for the record I expended the same amount on equipment stands... no regrets here.
I agree that the Duelund is excellent stuff - the Glasshouse interconnect kit 13 from Hifi Collective is a genuine bargain. I did have my entire system wired up with it for a while, but it proved to be a gateway drug for AN Lexus.... I actually prefer this to the AN silver litz - it does everything that the Duelund did, but somehow "better" - a complete absence of artificial emphasis, and a sort of organic spaciousness to the presentation is how I would characterise it - certainly more expensive (about £50/M for speaker cable and twice that for interconnect + really tedious termination- it is litz) but I believe it to be well worth it over the Duelund - YMMV as everPutting on my hard hat and asbestos jacket....
It may be worthwhile. I've been playing with some of the Duelund DCA for internal wiring and interconnects. It seems to do the same trick that Audio Note/Kondo Litz does. Hard to describe, but it's more 'natural' sounding somehow.
I bought a few bits as offcuts, but I've just ordered some more. I was going to get in some Audio Note silver Litz for the new phono stage, but it's going to be in the Duelund instead. IMHO it's that good.
Hi,My last two power cables and loudspeaker cables cost £21k for 4 x 2 metre length’s… they were worth every penny to me.
...and copper's the better conductorAre your speaker cables made of gold or copper ?
Not only that, I assume the guy with these cables has a £100k+ set of amps, speakers and front end to match a frankly absurd cable cost otherwise....Hi,
To put this into perspective, for 2 x 2metre runs of speaker cable which conforms to the same volume as per QED79 (2.50mm2 cross sectional area).
2 x 2metre of pure gold (24K) cost £18,245
2 x 2metre of pure copper cost £2.50
Are your speaker cables made of gold or copper ?

Shadders.
If it’s a wind up, fineJust for the record I expended the same amount on equipment stands... no regrets here.
I have some Mogami XLR 0.5m cables that I tried that I will give you for free if you cover the postage from Portugal to the UK.Ralph Karsten from Atma-sphere is one of the most respected amplifier designer alive today. What cable does he recommended? Mogami.
