Easily Q Acoustics over Dynaudio at £500.
Acoustic Energy AE1 mk2Evening
i’m just in the process of putting my first proper hifi system together after many yrs of sonus type listening
and so far have a Naim nap90.3 / nac92 cd3.5 and a project turntable all bought used
(sorry but I like the Naim sound)
now I need speakers, I have to rely on recommendation as it’s very difficult to go demo any.
i am thinking something like warfdale diamond 12.3 for price and room size
the triangle br03 look good but stock seems hard come by
and I quite like the idea of the wilmslow HB1 but they would be top of the budget
don’t mind used if I can get them posted but would prefer new
Would appreciate any suggestions
thanks
I don't know what to make of this. There are mixed views in the comments section. I know he's selling upgrade kits but he's right to point out the flaws, such as ferric magnetic metal in the binding posts.
It's not low cost to many people.Shock horror. Low cost speaker uses low cost parts.
It’s B&W’s lowest cost speaker. They used to have a more affordable range below the 600 series - 300 series which was decent but alas no more. I wonder what GR guy would say about the crossover here: https://www.bowerswilkins.com/sites/default/files/2019-03/ENG_FP12297_DM303_info_sheet.pdfIt's not low cost to many people.
The same as all the other budget fare. Take it apart, look at what he can sell as an upgrade. It’s B&W’s lowest cost speaker.
