Does anyone have a spare pair of top part (goes on dust cover) take apart hinge pieces for an old LP12 with the prop-up arm? I took mine off to clean the cover and now they’re gone. I’ve looked high and low in house but no luck. Please, help!
Thanks for extra places to look for exact hinge to use as a replacement for old Linn take apart metal hinge. How did you know the same hinge was used across various TT designs? You’re smart!Oops, that’s unfortunate. I imagine they’ll be pretty rare - I’ve never even seen a pair. However, the same lid and fixings were used on the Ariston RD11 and the Goldring Lenco GL75 (see photo) You may be lucky with a wider search - certainly there are spares out there. See here, for example- https://audio-creativeshop.nl/lenco-refurbish-and-restore/

Haha, thank you, but I just Google a lot! Actually, I knew the RD11 would be the same parts, but the Lenco was news to me. There were probably other decks that used those parts, but that’s all I found so far. BTW, the current Linn hinge is fairly generic, not Linn specific. Thanks for extra places to look for exact hinge to use as a replacement for old Linn take apart metal hinge. I think I read elsewhere on the Wam that the original smoked lid was from a Goldring Lenco turntable. Remember, going back to the early days Linn were just starting out, so there was no point in them designing bits that were already available elsewhere. Lenco had already been in business for years! Thanks for extra places to look for exact hinge to use as a replacement for old Linn take apart metal hinge.
