Anybody use or have experience of the Technics RX50? Always fancied a pair of these....

As you can see, high prices in Germany..........audioscope has some "dream" equipment, prices are nuts though!

Price much too high, normally about £300 to 400 in the UK. SMEagol (Chris) had some a while ago. Sounded very powerful for their size, but a little toppy.

They don't come up very often and those that do you're more likely to spot and remember if on a high-priced Buy It Now on a 30 day listing.

I've seen them sell as an auction for under £200 in great condition. Something says in my memory banks, even like £70 for good condition too (but could have had something wrong with it that I don't remember). Last time I deliberately checked out prices was when someone had some on here for about £400 (i thought about double what you could sometimes snag them for on eBay).

I get the impression that prices are higher in general in Germany anyway and then you still have to factor in that run on the pound back in 2008/9 which made hi-fi overseas instantly 30% more expensive! People overseas of course will be paying the same price they ever were but suddenly everything is 30% cheaper in the UK. Whether people in the UK adjusted to those higher prices (either accepted and paid them, or started demanding 30% more when selling else ship it abroad) depends on people's scope when researching prices or if they're new to the game (and so ignorant of previous prices). That's my attempt to explain that very high asking price for that pair..
