I am very proud to present in the UK for the first time, K.S. Park's new Reference Phono stage. The H5000 is a 2 chassis, direct heated Triode, transformer coupled LCR unit, the very frontiers of Kang Su's ability and Allnic's contender for the crown as the best phono the world has ever seen. At £22,995 and as you would expect, it moves the game on from the world class H3000 in no uncertain terms.

I won't even begin to try and get into what this magnificant piece does but suffice to say that I have simply never heard vinyl like this, in any system, anywhere or at any price. If you are serious about vinyl playback and invested to this sort of level then the H5000 demands your investigation and is awaiting to completely seduce and overwhelm your soul.

This unit is soon to be despatched to Roy Gregory for a very in depth review. After that it will visit other publications and then return to Lotus for customer demonstrations. I have two blind orders from existing H3000 owners already and production is at a fairly moderate pace so if this is something that interests you, please drop me a line early on to book yourself in for demo.

Regards, Richard

@SCIDB

Not that much further detail. The biggest problem with the DHT design is microphony and I can tell you that the prototype was designed using very very old Telefunken RS242 tubes in the gain section of the pre. KS then commissioned to have a modern equivalent built to make way for a good noise floor and microphony characteristics.

Considering how outlandish and bespoke this thing is I have to say its been remarkeably plug and play since I have had it here. On the rack is looks sensational as well. The photos just do not get across the beautifully large heft of the thing and the outstanding build quality. This is my demo example so happily belongs to me but sadly I will have to wait several months before it comes back to me from the reviews. It's going to be a long wait ! As ever, I am using it with the HA3000 head amp straight to MM and that does offer a substantial improvement the same with all the other phonos.

Initial listening has been pretty amazing. It does some really special things and you really do not want to go back to a regular old H3000 after hearing this beast. What I like about ths piece is when you really examine the way its been put together, the chimneys and vents, the bases and the way the light comes up through the chassis, it just feels like there's been so much love and passion put into the thing. I wish more people could hear it other than just those who pass through here or are in the market to home demo it. I think I might try and oragnise a big Allnic phono bakeoff at some point and so people can go right through the range and see what happens when you go from H1201 - H1500 - H3000 - H3000/HA3000 - H5000.

5000 is 40% better than 3000, so it must be good :^
ha ha :D

I honestly believe that KS/Hammertone do not milk it on prices (the price of the H1201 is a pretty good evidence of that) but they decided to make the H5000 almost double the price of the H3000+HA3000. That gives you an idea not only of how much better they think it is but also some of the manufacturing costs involved.

Looks great. Which DHT's are they using for the audio circuit? I'm trying to think of suitably high Gm examples.

Hi Guy, they are a commisioned build, manufactured by Kron in Czechoslovakia. This is what accounted for the delay of this thing. Now we have a lifetimes supply though.

The L5000 DHT is being reworked similarly with a newly manufactured design.

Holy crap. I would LOVE to A/B that with my Mastergroove. It certainly wins in the looks department!
