Yes it's just not good enough. When we part with this sort of cash, support is part of why I am paying a firm. It's also why I stay with Restek. I know their stuff is superbly made through 25 years of ownership. I am not convinced I would get that longevity from many manufacturers. I hope I am wrong because sound quality and build quality is what I look for in equipment.

Nope. We talked at lengths about compatibility but lead time was an issue. They are waiting for a reply on how long the CDP will be. Lack of communication really does ***k me off! No need for it tbh.

I know pretty well how the Restek pre power are going to sound and they are incredibly competitive for 11 k. I trust their reliability as very well made engineering. It would just be a case of convenience which is where the 507z might work. I do like a very good intergrated and your 507z has got a phono stage and head phone socket of very good quality.

See it through Jon. When it comes back all singing and dancing fully upgraded, play it for a while, see how it integrates with your Luxman.
By that time if you want to move it on fully serviced and upgraded there will be people on here ready to bite your hand off, especially as all the work would be done.

Deadline for news is Tuesday. It’s all very well them promoting at Munich but looking after current customers is equally important.

I'm sorry to say Jon I am not filled with confidence about the deadline. But I am confident they will do the work.
Yet I understand going with the same brand (Luxman) throughout the system chain. I really feel doing so maximises performance as a whole system.

Yes, all Luxman kit is like a Raquel Welch in her prime. Beautifully etched lines.
In fact the 507z is so pretty it would be down to performance as to which I 'd keep.

Whatever it is, it’s transmitting everything to the Mono’s.
The reason I asked for my money back is I just want to enjoy my system. I don’t like being told something is fixed when it clearly isn’t.
I actually do think it is a design fault or items missing in the circuitry for this type of issue, especially when the demo amp is exactly the same.

It's a terrible disappointment when something is not working but even more so dealers trying to fix etc or trying to make you keep the stuff etc ,oh well I hope you get the refund .

Superb rig. Would be interesting to compare my PD171 with AN arm 2/2 and IO against yours but they are too big and heavy to do bake offs.

My experience has been that you just need to find the right speaker/amplifier match.There are no absolutes when it comes to amplifiers.
Having said that I have no doubt that the Bakoon amplifiers are by far the highest resolution amplifiers I have owned or heard.They are lowish powered class A/B.Owning them has reshaped my expectations and I now find almost all amps and preamps a bit veiled sounding.Even if they might sound "nicer'.As a friend said once you hear that sort of clarity and lack of smear you can't unhear it.Push pull valve amps for example sound pretty low resolution by comparison.
I also have some very high resolution speakers in Yamaha NS75T.They will tell exactly how sources and electronics sound.You have to be in the right mood to enjoy them and they are incredibly recording quality fussy.
Most speakers are not very revealing at all.And many are probably deliberately designed like that so they can sound decent with middling sort of amplifiers.
