The Class A/B and D Conclusion UPDATE Luxman Arrival

Well, I’m certainly getting withdrawal symptoms after the Luxman demo model went back. I did try a 590 class A and it was lovely but missing the overall grip the 507z had on the Harbeths.
I’ve not used my system since, even though I have a loan amp.

Surely the music is more important than the hifi; you were listening to it before you bought the Luxman. I have a lake of moving boxes in front of my speakers but it hasn’t stopped me listening to music.

Hang on did you get Monica Bellucci with the amp and it’s just not the same without her?

Interesting that you should find that to be the case, as I’d been wondering about it. I’m in a double dilemma now as I’ve also been offered a very good deal by the same shop on a new pair of Audio Solutions Virtuoso B. They have a down-firing 19 cm woofer in the base, in addition to what you see there Also an unusual crossover set up - that front main driver does 500 Hz to 7 KHz There’s a rear port, but they reckon it can go right up to the wall with no ill effects (port-wise anywsy)

Having a dedicated music room is great but when I want to chill and relax away from it all. Just haven’t felt like it. The Sonos downstairs however, is in use for background

Oh, I have an amp lol. The Exposure 3510 integrated on loan. I’ve owned one. Great as it is, I’ve been spoiled by the Luxman. I have a Cyrus daD7/PSX-R and it still holds its own but the Luxman showed its weaknesses. Only the Vinyl rig shone with the Luxman so when the Restek does return, I will know it’s improvements when partnered with the Exposure as I ran them both for 6m together.

Mine kept changing its presentation for about 2 weeks from first play.
I think both Cdp and Luxman will be powerful and quite dynamic in presentation together.

The box is huge, it’s almost too heavy, I need to take the arm and cartridge off to transport it and the cartridge tags are so delicate that once I strap in the IO in the next few weeks I can’t see me dismantling it again until I move house. I am very happy to have wammers round though. There are not many of these around and I think only one of two on the Wam.

29kg boxed too! Almost as heavy and awkward as the amps!

@Rockchild Hi Jon my SHL5s on the end of my Audio Research DSI200 sound totally amazing and I haven’t even got them set up properly because I can’t find the spikes for the stands. But wow with a great amp up them the Harbeths sound stunning. It’s visceral. 200 watts of smooth Class D.

Will plug in the Audio Research SP17/D130 tomorrow or Wednesday
