On behalf of a friend, I am helping to sell some items of well-cared for HiFi from a deceased’s estate. Among the items is a very nice ‘The Voyd’ turntable, in black plinth, fitted with a Helios Orion pickup arm and Transfiguration Spirit II cartridge. All in excellent condition, but I have no idea what to suggest as a selling price.

I hope some interested Wammers could help out here!

@Tony Whittle is probably your man for guidance here. I can tell you what I paid for mine a few years back but not sure how the market prices have changed in the intervening time.
I doubt they've gone down. They've always been comparatively sought after, because people tend to hang onto them.

It looks pretty tidy. Is the PSU the ‘shoebox’ type or the older type? Any pics?

Anyway the deck is probably about £1K all day long, the arm say £400-£500 and the cart £300-£400. So as a complete set up maybe £1700 to £1900. Of course depending on condition. Has it got packaging?

Happy to answer any other questions you may have. Snoop did we meet at Blade Audio many years ago?

Hi Tony,

Thanks for your input - much appreciated!

We did indeed meet on quite a few occasions at Blade, back in the day. I recall a Christmas dinner with you, Catherine, Dave and Alison, where goose was on the menu, as well as some barbecue dining and watching the sun go down in Dave’s back garden! I spoke with you at a record fair at Bordon, a few years back, where you were demoing Audio Note gear. Hugo had a stand there too!

Regards,

Steve

As stuff over 500 isn't really selling due to people's finances, I would say 1500 to 1700 depending on the power supply and condition of the cart (hours).

Nice deck and lovely arm, but I prefer the PT ones.

I sold my Voyd 1 turntable a few years ago for £1200 IIRC, no arm, good nick, original packaging, newer PSU, spare motor. It didn't hang about more than a few days. The Orion is a go-to arm for it I believe, so a nice package for someone. GLWTS.

Voyd on eBay at the mo - keep an eye to see what it sells for. I would split and sell the Helius arm and Transfiguration seperately (check Hifi Shark for prices) .. well not strictly true, if i was in your position I would keep the Transfiguration (no longer made and not often seen for sale and a geat cartridge)
