Hi, not been on in a while. I'm thinking of buying a second hand arcam rdac, but i'd like to know if you guys think it will be worth it. I have seen people saying that the combination of A18 amp and the rdac is quite good, but I have never owned a proper separate dac. I already have a half decent soundcard in my computer (creative titanium x-fi champion - it has a digital output). I would probably connect my virgin tivo and an old samsung r134 dvd (as it has a coaxial output - i take it i'd just get a standard coaxial cable (not sure of connector though)). My plan would be to use the dvd player as a cd player, as my denon dcd 425 has not really worked properly in years. Would connecting dvd player to dac transform it into a half decent cd player, or is the whole idea of buying a dac, considering my sources, pointless? I'm only consider it because i might get it cheap.
