Thinking of an IEC Lead for M3i

I have just upgraded from a NAD325BEE to a MF M3i.

The NAD had a captive power cord and rather than moding the amp I just fitted a silver pinned plug and left it at that. My X-Ray CD player however, I bought an Ecosse Big Orange power cord for, which I thought was a very good upgrade for £30!

The M3i gives me the option to upgrade the power cable. Do I plum £50 for another Ecosse or do I buy some shielded mains cable and a silver plated IEC plug from eBay, and make my own?

£50 on several nice new vinyl albums or a few ceedee box-sets>> eg

or a mix of both would be a win over the likely nil improvement of what you propose.

Why not look at self build for some more mains cables? It's v easy to source good quality cables/connectors & it can be v cost effective, the spikey's in t' above link could easily be incorporated.
