Hi Folks,

Just finished a solid walnut plinth for my mates Thorens deck, thought I would share the results.

This was machined from a single length of solid walnut, mitres cut on a Morso guillotine and jointed with a Festool domino joiner. I was then sanded back smooth through several grades of sandpaper and two coats of hardwax oil was applied followed by 3 coats of wax and then hand polished.

some rubber feet have been fitted to the corner bracing to lift the turntable by 2mm from whatever it sits upon.

Wenban Smith Mike, very good, ever so slightly over priced but, they always provide the sort of quality timber I am after which is worth an extra few pennies after using most down here. If you need any help on sourcing timber just ask, this piece of Walnut was about £30 before butchering it :)
