Sorted - subscription ran out on an out of date card! Think I might try Qobuz instead ….
Wouldn it be great if we got an error message like:
„Your subscription has ended. Please renew at …“ ?

Coming from almost 50 years in the software industry, it still amazes me the lack of common sense that is present in automated systems.
Try Qobuz, I found it is better but depends what sort of music you play.
I have both Tidal and Qobuz. I find myself going to Qobuz HiRes first, then Qobuz CD, and finally Tidal. Sometimes only Tidal has what I'm looking for.Try Qobuz, I found it is better but depends what sort of music you play.
I find Qobuz is far better for Jazz. Classical also but I don't play that much.I have both Tidal and Qobuz. I find myself going to Qobuz HiRes first, then Qobuz CD, and finally Tidal. Sometimes only Tidal has what I'm looking for.
Yes there a few albums I like missing from Qobuz. I don't the music Tidal promotes.
I don't even know what I'm paying for Tidal here in the USA. I don't use it very often. But it's so inexpensive for the benefit. Plus, I like supporting musicians and the music industry. These days, streaming services are a reality and a vital part of the industry. The musicians need to negotiate better terms. I think the money is there, the record companies are not passing it on because contracts were based on physical sales. Streaming sites make very little money if any, Spotify which is the largest did make a small profit but now has gone back to making a loss. Tidal is either $10 or $20 I think.I don't even know what I'm paying for Tidal here in the USA. I don't use it very often. But it's so inexpensive for the benefit. I pay for Qobuz for this reason. However I rarely use it to play anything preferring to play from my NAS occasionally trying new material streamed. I have often wondered whether the artists benefit from my streaming £'s. I don't know what the breakdown of payments is - is it based purely on number of streams (in which case Qobuz are benefiting entirely from me).Plus, I like supporting musicians and the music industry.
I don't know anything about how the artists get paid. I figure it's up to the artists to negotiate their own deals. I'll just do my part by paying for my subscriptions.I pay for Qobuz for this reason. However I rarely use it to play anything preferring to play from my NAS occasionally trying new material streamed. It has been suggested to me that I could just play one track from a favourite artist, but on repeat, overnight, with the amps and speakers switched off.

Can do but pick a unknown artist rather than a mainstream star, they need the money more. I stream music even if I have it on cd.It has been suggested to me that I could just play one track from a favourite artist, but on repeat, overnight, with the amps and speakers switched off.
