Anyone had any experience with these? I bought one thinking it might help with static as it's name might suggest. It's a felt mat with carbon fibres to supposedly magic away static from the surface of the record.
Brand new vinyl and a good treatment with the zerostat and on the first flip of the record an electrical storm formed around the record causing pops, crackles and charging something in the arm that caused a constant buzzing until I grounded the headshell with my finger.
Even better it's completely coated the contact side of the vinyl in tiny carbon fibres.
The felt side is marked "this side down facing platter" ensuring a good coating of carbon fibres can be adhered to the newly charged LP.
Absolutely crap product or user error?
