I got to number 14 before I thought that I was looking at what the camera saw.

Some lovely inspirational pics, but even I thought many crudely overprocessed (and I LIKE mucking about in PS etc) :)

There's a place for HDR in processing but imho it's very limited. Some architectural shots can produce striking images through HDR but I've never felt that it's something that adds to landscapes. The Liverpool Dock is quite interesting but most of the others don't stimulate any interest for me ...

A nice set, some v good images, but no Mark Littlejohn pics.

As far as HDR is concerned, if it adds to the pictorial/aesthetic quality of an image then it's fine, just like any other post processing technique. I think HDR is a 'Marmite' thing, I don't like Marmite - but I'm OK with HDR.

+1000

Also as far as I can tell most of the photos in that set are not HDR.

They did extensive use of GND and other filters.

In the 4th photo for example one can see how the hills on the horizon are blackened from a gnd filter.

EDIT: IMO only the 1st one is maybe an HDR
