Yesterday I installed a TP-Link AC2600 Wi-Fi Extender in the living room which allows me to control the processing desktop computer without having to connect the control laptop with an ethernet cable.
Because I am using a microRendu network-bridge/endpoint I am now also able to stream Spotify and any Airplay content to the system (as is the rest of the family), something which before required that I use an optical cable from laptop to DAC and changed the input from USB to Toslink.
More importantly, and this may interest you @TheFlash, I don't think that there's a loss in quality from my previous dedicated and wired-only network setup but I haven't yet fully acclimatised to the new room.
