Turntable set-up - cheeky?

Hi everyone...

Not sure if this is outrageously cheeky, so won't be annoyed to be told it is.

I have a Marantz TT15S1 and have set it up according to the instructions that came with it. Honestly, I am really happy with the sound. The thing is, I don't own any of the "proper" turntable set-up stuff, and don't think it's worth buying any as I have no interest in swapping and changing carts etc, and will be more than happy to get a dealer to fit a new one in a good many years when needed.

My potentially cheeky question is this. Is there anyone fairly close to the South Leicestershire area who a) has the kit, and b) would like to come and have a listen to my set-up and double check it?

As I said, please do feel free to let me know if this is a bit too cheeky - but I don't know anyone outside of this forum who is into HiFi - never mind record players!

The great thing about turntables in my experience is you can’t be oblivious to problems - they’re just too obvious. Mistracking, excessive sibilants, too many clicks or pops, and so on are all plain to hear.

Iirc it’s not a complex design and I’d be confident if you are enjoying it then it’s just fine.

Hi Chris,

I'm in Oadby so not far away, however, I have a LP12 which was set up and fettled by Peter at Cymbiosis and it will forever remain that way as I have no desire to fiddle with it myself Consequently I have no experience in setting up turntables but would be happy to pop over and listen to yours if you want a second opinion.
