Hello all!
Had a great unexpected hifi experience today.
We drove into the countryside to attend a babyshower today. Due to the excellent weather everyone was standing outside, chatting away.
It was only when I went for drinks I noticed the barn where the bar was, had some very interesting old equipment.
The main speakers were old JBL C35's with selfmade tweeters put on top, driven by an old Sansui.
He also had some old Bose 901's in that space.
Eventually the older man whose house it was and who owned the rig, saw me looking around and we got talking.
He told me about his main setup with Klipschorns driven by an old Luxman tube amp.
I couldn't resist mentioning I had never heard a pair and offcourse the man happily obliged
What a great space he had set up in a large attic! The Klipsches sounded amazing, such effortlessness with vocals, guitar and piano!
First time I heard speakers that good, I think. And to stumble upon it totally unexpected, made my day!
