OK, bit of a tale here...........

I was recently playing a track and heard an unpleasant noise from the ribbon tweeter on one of my speakers (video below). A little perturbed, I contact Wharfedale, as the speakers are still under warranty and was duly put in touch with their preferred repairer, who will organise the repair and collection / delivery of the offending speaker. However, I have since had a move around in the room, which involved disconnecting the whole setup and later re-connecting and I am now struggling to reproduce the fault!!

I have played the same track at various volumes and there is no sign of the issue.

I am now thinking this could have been a poor connection rather than a speaker fault, has anyone had such an issue before?

It’s good practice or maybe just OCD but I like to dismantle and rebuild my system at least once a year as all the plugging and unplugging does a good wiping job in all the plugs and sockets.(y)

I suggest letting their repairer look at it. It sounds a bit like a loose connection in the tweeter, maybe from the wire in the crossover? If so moving it might have 'fixed it' temporarily, but it will loosen again.

This sounds like a fault with an interconnect lead. Try swapping left to right connections ( with amp turned off ) and see if the noise swaps to the other speaker, channel.
