I assume you mean Urika and not Urika II. AFAIK, there’s no adjustment possible on the Urika.

There is no adjustment available on the Urika 1. The settings are fixed where Linn felt they were best for Akiva, Kandid, etc. and work well with a range of cartridges. Adjustability was left out consciously in the effort to keep the signal path as simple and pure as possible. Switches in the signal path do degrade the sound, especially so at the extremely low voltage levels coming out of MC cartridges. This same engineering policy was followed with every Linn MC phono stage from that in the LK1, through the Kairn and the Linto to the Urika 1. Only the Uphorik and Urika 2 have switchable loading.
Thanks Thomas. Do you know what number they pick for resistive loading for the Kandid? There is no adjustment available on the Urika 1. This is why I use a Uphorik. I've had many Linn Phono Stages - including Linto and the Kairn. I once bought a Klyde and was rather unimpressed - but then played it through a PS that allowed switching and was amazed at what out could do. I can see the benefits of the short signal path but as I don't use LInn cartridges I find the ability to match with switches outweighs the loss. The switches in the Uphorik can be made permanent once you find Nirvana (mine aren't)!
(Edited - I didn't spot that I was listening through Vietnamese Broth)!

I have Klyde, it sounds just fine with a LK1 and should do so with all subsequent LInn preamps with fixed loading. I cannot see any benefit for variable loading in that case....I once bought a Klyde and was rather unimpressed
