I've heard the Be version of these, and they are excellent. Power Speakers!

The Diamond tweetered versions of some speaker models can often be voiced a fair bit more feisty in the treble. Which may or may not be bothersome.

Well worth an audition.

A friend has a pair of these.Very capable and revealing speakers. The treble is superb. The worst thing about them is moving them They are really heavy but worse than that is there is nowhere to get a decent grip. Also because of the slope back it would be hard to move them on a bag trolley without losing balance. The best way would involve lying them down on a stretcher.

I've had a couple of pairs of B&W 802ds, which were similarly difficult to get hold of, due to the curved shape. Some folk used to use the back of the mid range unit as a handle, but I was never convinced of the safety of that, so didn't use that method... These Usher's look the business though. Are Usher back in business? I was under the impression they may have closed, even if not permanently.

Speaker units would be very hard to source if you damage them, at £7.5K of investment, that is a serious consideration.
Speaker units are now impossible to obtain now that the company has no UK presence. I damaged one of the woofers on my S520s and emailed them directly - I eventually got a quote from Paul, their contact guy, and said I wished to proceed but he then stopped replying to my emails. After a further five messages went ignored, I gave up and sold the speakers for spare parts.

I miss them very much as they are brilliant little speakers, but I won’t buy another pair unless Usher gains UK distribution once more.

The woofers are Eton so parts would be available. And the DMD tweeters are still being made and used. And you can upgrade the mids to the latest type if anything happen to them.If the BE20s have a weakness it is the bass which is by no means bad but just a tad rubbery.A lot of large ported speakers suffer from that though. If you could combine the bass of Magico S5s with the mid and treble of the Ushers you would have really great speaker.
