Haven't listened to the Orton yet, but the Alabaster sounds great, I'd say that its strength is and ability of sounding smooth yet punchy at the same time.

It has an extremely competent MM phono stage built-in, and the 55W per channel is quite healthy for most speakers.

A serious listen and consideration is definitely recommended! :^ :^

I would recommend the HANA EH - fantastic performance for the asking price, very low rumble noise and very even across the range.  ^_^
