My friend is blind and that means that he uses (Google) voice control for just about everything in and around the house. He has a small purse so I am scanning the second hand market for him for a bargain. He already has a pair of aktiv Ninka’s with 3X lk 140. Anyone with any experience on the subject and maybe some tips? Is Sneaky/Majik ds an option and is it possible to use it in any way with voice commands?

Thanks in advance!

What is his present front end, and what is the software suite that he is using to control it?

Using Alexa, the only voice control I have been able to operate is: Alexa, switch on/off my Linn system.

I did not find how to change the volume, or select a radio, or anything else 😕

As I always say, throw the spyware out the window.

But I'm remembering on this forum some members were playing with Alexa skills. Do a search, perhaps you can reach out to them and see what they did and perhaps share their code?

The name of my Klimax unit is Twin (I did have it named Klimax but Alexa did not like that)
I have pins set to various radio streams but this could also be a playlist or album
I use:
Alexa channel 5 on twin (plays Pin 5)
Alexa volume 55 on twin
Alexa next track on twin
Alexa turn off twin
Alexa resume twin

I have a list of commands that appeared at various times on Alexa or Linn sites. I couldn’t get some of these to work and found shortening them as much as possible was the best way to get them to operate consistently.

User: Alexa, set the volume of device to 50; set the volume to 50 on device

User: Alexa, turn the volume down on device

User: Alexa, turn the volume down on device by 20

User: Alexa, mute device

User: Alexa, unmute device

User: Alexa, turn on device

User: Alexa, turn off device

User: Alexa, next song on device

User: Alexa, go forward on device

User: Alexa, go back on device

User: Alexa, pause device

User: Alexa, resume device

User: Alexa, play device

User: Alexa, stop device

Alexa, change input to "Television" on Living Room

Another thing to note - once you've started controlling a Linn device through an echo dot, subsequent phrases do not have to specify the device name.
E.g. :

Alexa, turn on Living Room

Alexa, set volume to 11

Alexa, play

"Alexa, set the volume of Kitchen to 50"

"Alexa, turn the volume down on Lounge" - turn volume down by 1 step in Lounge

"Alexa, turn the volume down on Bedroom by 20" - turn volume down by 20 steps in Bedroom

"Alexa, turn the volume up on Lounge" - turn volume up by 1 step in Lounge

"Alexa, turn the volume up on Bedroom by 10" - turn volume up by 10 steps in Bedroom

"Alexa, mute Living Room" - Mute audio in Living room

"Alexa, unmute Morning Room" - Ummute audio in Morning Room

"Alexa, turn on Kitchen" - Wake up Kitchen

"Alexa, turn off Dining Room" - put Dining room to Sleep

"Alexa, next on Kids Room" - Skip forward track/radio station in Kids room

"Alexa, go forward on Guest Room" - Skip forward track/radio station in Guest room

"Alexa, go back on Kitchen" - Skip back track/radio station in Kitchen

"Alexa, pause Lounge" - Pause Lounge

"Alexa, resume Lounge" - Play Lounge

"Alexa, switch input to Blu-Ray on Living Room" - Select Blu-Ray DSM input in Living Room

"Alexa, change channel to 3 on Lounge" - Select Pin3 in Lounge DS/DSM

"Alexa, change channel to 1 on Bedroom" - Select Pin1 in Bedroom DS/DSM

Was thinking that a DSM can be controlled by Apple iOS devices (iPhone, iPad), and these devices have Accessibility features, perhaps there is a way to set up a device to accommodate a blind person.
