


This is set for coax digital out where it really comes into its own, and you can use a DAC of your choice. Wadia paid apple a lot for direct access to the digital stream bypassing the iPhone/iPods internal DAC. You can also use this line level like any other component. It sounds great turning an iphone/ipod into a digital transport. Quite thin on the ground these. From 2008 I use an iPhone 4 with ALAC files. the following models will output a digital signal to the 170iTransport: iPod touch, iPod classic, iPod with video, first three generations of the iPod nano (check for others with Wadia). You can pick up a third gen ipod nano or an iphone 4 for £30 or less!
