So listening to great sampler of Hungarian jazz label BMC record 2014 called little bird in the lee these old Sony speakers nice and loud and I can say the system sounds pretty good to my old flaps , it really does sound full to me yes may be the top end is not as reveling as a modern set up but honestly these Sony G4 things sound great I had a nice set of atc 40 SCM things sealed box three ways but I just couldn't get on with them and you had to really bit them hard to make the bass pop ,well these Sony's mooch around quiet happily at normal domestic levels and sound full . I lost about 40 percent on the atc SCM boxes when I sold them but I was glad to get rid of things and they were rather good at finding crappy recordings and revelling every thing which is good I suppose the mid range unit on the ATC was yes speciall etc . Great for listening into recordings . I replaced the STC with nice Martin Logan electrostatic panels which went pop and these Sony's pushed in to service and quiet happy with them ,yes not as nice as the electrostatics with a nice 8 inch bass speaker in the boxes . If I had the room again I would look for them again .but these are ok .for the moment .

This is a truly great record. If you do not like Madonna give it a go. It is essentially a William Orbit album with Madonna providing vocals and contributing to it. The album is like nothing else in her catalog.
Yep & I love Wlliam Orbits stuff but it's the only Madonna album I have.

[1985] Kate Bush – Hounds Of Love [Qobuz HiRes]
Lke many of us somewhat older listeners, we were into this album long before the show "Stranger Things" brought "Running Up That Hill" to a current audience. For me, my first exposure to the song was in a movie called "The Chocolate War" that came out around 1988.

However, for me the standout song is "Cloudbusting". A while fans of Kate Bush may disagree I personally feel this is here best song. Lyrics like the following spoke big time (notice the sly Peter Gabriel reference ha ha) at the time and still do.

On top of the world
Looking over the edge
You could see them coming
You looked too small
In their big black car
To be a threat to the men in power

I hid my yo-yo
In the garden
I can't hide you
From the government
Oh, God, Daddy
I won't forget

Great stuff.

[1994] Pink Floyd - The Division bell [2021 remastered/reissued 24/192 flac]
The Division Bell is really a great record. The Division Bell tour is unequaled before or since. It will forever stand the test of time as the best of the best.

And while I also love the U2 Zoo TV and PopMart tours along with the Genesis Mama and Invisible tours, there is something special about this one. Modern tours just do not seem to have the emotional impact or connection to the music as they did before the world changed. Glad to have had these experiences in my formative years.

Two Shoes - The Cat Empire. FLAC. Impossible not to have your spirits lifted by this (even though Leeds United have a good chance of going down). If you don't know them and fancy a try, Sol y Sombra, The Car Song or Sly are all excellent tunes from this album.
