I am increasingly resistant (in all senses) to bending down to floor level to extract LPs from storage, so have planned to store them at between waist and shoulder level.

Oh I get that but some of my favourite albums are gutter level

This is my 'in regular use' storage in the listening room. There are also two CD racks, plus shelves with CDs. There is about the same amount of LP storage in one spare bedroom, about the same again for CDs in another bedroom and there are around 800 or so 'never bother to play' LPs in airtight boxes in the garage. Hoarder? Moi?

To be honest I think I haven't done too bad from 2011 when I only had about 150 albums and decided to dive in again .

Do the right thing and rent a skip for all the Dire Straits albums (and their multiple copies) and that storage would only have about 20 albums in it. Sorted.

Although you may want to hide all the Dire Straits under a shedload of porn to stop any embarrassment inflicted on the driver when he comes to collect the skip.
