Hi everyone, my late father was into his HiFi and gathered a small collection of separates during the 70's and 80's. I am looking to sell them on, have struggled to get any interest on eBay so wondered where might be the best place to go ? Don't mind selling to a dealer or a refurb place. Condition varies but some pieces are excellent, including some Reference 3A Dulcet speakers. https://www.tnt-audio.com/casse/ref3a_dulcet_e.html

Well there are a few ways to get that sorted . Search eBay for any that have sold . Do the same on HiFiShark . List what you have and condition with pictures here (not in classified) and you will get some opinions . Much depends on condition , make ,model and rarity value . Also remember just because it is old does not mean it was good an Amstrad Tower is old but it is still dreadful .

They are pretty straight up guys and also enthusiasts + they have a building/shop rammed to the rafters with vintage kit.

I would put your stuff in our classifieds we are a very mixed bunch so you never know👍

Ah, I’ve found your speakers on the bay. Not enough pictures, especially of the drive units. Sketchy description. Collection only. No boxes. What was the original price. How old?

All unclear, I’m afraid. Quite understandable when you’ve lost your Dad, and condolences to you.

And I’ve never heard of them, so I’m sure I’m not alone.

Apologies for the negative tone, but I’m trying to be honest with you.

If you’re struggling on eBay then there might be several reasons:-

1. too high a price
2. poor pictures
3. no boxes so limited to collection only
4. not tested so you cannot claim it’s working
5. unusual products that will need patience to sell

And so on.
Good post Nick👍

Might be an idea to see if you have any wammers who live around near you to get them to help with advice pricing and value👍 They could also be interested in buying something too🤔

Someone local could also help you test things and look at condition.👌

On line auction houses, not eBay.
I'm thinking a place I work at that sells all manner of items, including hifi. Google 1818 and it will find it for you. It won't look specific enough for hifi but we have had some interesting pieces in over the years.

All this depends where you are.

1818 are near Kendal.
They sell virtually anything.
But have specialist valuers to assess many items.
Presently as well as the usual there are some classic motorcycles, artworks and pen collections
