I've been using a borrowed cable from a fellow wammer to connect my Opus 21 to the pre , and belive there is an improvement, so would like to buy a decent cable.

I've seen several Chord Co. versions, would am not a fan of their products.

Any other suggestions ?

Thanks.

I think Kimber (Russ Andrews) do them, they certainly do DIN cables - might need to be a special order for Din - RCA though.

We have 2 very capable (and cheap (don't ya know it ;-) )) cable capable guys (sodders and ReferenceFidelity) on here. Support your local traders; go to them first :)

Hi Neil,

Glad it works! Pretty much any cable from any decent manufacturer can be terminated as DIN-Phono. I had my Kondo KSL-LP re-terminated as such when I bought the new setup. Kevin was adamant that it was better than running the Opus out of the RCA's so therefore worthwhile doing so.

there is another option you might consider. Ian Fraser who also sells on the bay has made me several din cables for my quads. Using high quality PREH plugs (Neutrik for RCA) and van damme or meridian digital cable, the price and quality for the finished product makes most commercial cables look just plain silly. he is a very accomodating and helpful person to deal with and i recommend him

These are the cables he made for me, just tell him your needs and he will make a cable to suit.

The Missing Link would be my recommendation...Mark and Jan are true stars...You could get a loan cable and make your own mind up...

Having used definitive and the missing link I can heartily recommend both, though the missing link will probably not try to sell you a uber expensive audio niknak that you somehow never needed previously. But after buying cannot live without.

I've got some Purite IC's here and they are excellent value with quality products used in the manufacture. Nothing I've heard better at any price, first class service too. :^

Is this a cable thread, could be dangerous stuff.
Not really. It's just that 5-pin din to rca aren't the easiest to find these days, at least they weren't when I needed them to connect sources to my old creek amp. You can't pick them up for a couple of quid in tescos, or even maplins, as far as I know. At the time I bought mine Flashback Sales were the cheapest ones I could source after an extensive hunt.
