An outstanding pair of Wilson CLONE speakers.
Firstly the build quality is superb. They are very heavy and finished in a graphite sprayed grey, blue foam grills.
In excellent condition, the pics show some dust and a cobweb at the rear so ignore that.
The finish design was by forum member Graham who had matching stands made (weigh a ton) professionally sprayed in blue gloss.
The stands were custom made and VERY expensive.
I bought the speakers and stands a little under 7 years ago from a Wammer, and they were so good they were used with my ASR amps and replaced Verity Parsifal encore speakers.
The speaker designer who made them intended to improve on the original Wilsons. I thought they were some of the best speakers I had ever heard and a massive saving on original Wilsons. The drivers are not original Wilsons, but overall sound and build is very close as they had been made (so we believe by a former Wlisons engineer) and are very close.
They are only having to go for reasons of room

Would need collecting (NR27) or send man with van and muscle.
£550 SPEAKERS ONLY + CAN COURIER (instead of £££££££'s that original Wilsons would cost)
£700 including amazing very very heavy stands

Bargain if they're as good as, or better than, the Wilson's. Are the drive units and crossover the same as the originals?

No, we think not as original Wilsons tweeter was a FOCAL - we think this is a SEAS.
What I believe is that they followed the original Wilson design to the spec. And to my ears at one time listening to them beside some kosha Wilsons, using Krell amps, they sounded pretty much the same. They work really well with supertweeters btw (I tried a few).

But, I am not pricing them as though they were Wilsons and what I would add is that the stands cost more to make than I am asking for the complete setup. Bargain? I think so. . .

There was an interesting thread about these when the original owner was customising the paint and stands, (there was a lot of detail), but it was many years ago and I fear long gone.

The thing is the sound - they are really very good indeed and were happily used with a Krell, Viva valves, Quad valves and very recently before my move a massive ASR setup. I have had to downsize (am still downsizing infact) due to house move and osteoarthritis - cant lug the stuff about anymore, so a lifetime hobby taking a lower key profile.

My Nottingham analogue Hyper turntable, morch arm and ortofon Kontra will be up in due course - can't bring myself to actually do it!

Violins and hankies anyone?

Hello there! I could only remember my seller had driven all the way from the SW to deliver them (a number of years ago!). Hi Graham - can you Pm me any info that may help with any q's as I also have these up on PinkFish. I do believe I am advertising for what I paid you - should I factor in inflation/passage of tme etc. They have been lovely speakers with me for the past 7 years (even outlived my last beloved sheepdog).

I did indeed do the long drive, it was fun
Ohh no sorry to hear about your dog 😔

Don't really have alot of info
I had the stands made myself and double lined, sand filled, and powder coated.
I also had a specialist make the foam covers, and I generally just smarted them up from whom I bought them off.
I contacted Wilson about them also..
They are just clones, but very well made,
Hope that helps.

Cheers - what I thought also, I do recall that the guy who made them followed the Wilson spec very diligently: build and sound are very close indeed - so unless you want the real thing these could save you thousands £££. Did the same thing myself when I was younger with some Alison ones that were on the way out re drivers and bass - differently sourced drivers but couldn't tell them apart (though Roy Alison probably could have done!)

Graham (former owner) has provided a bit more info and so I have updated the listing with bit more detail re origin and age.

REVISED LISTING

Could now courier or arrange man and van.

Speakers alone, new price - £550 collection or + courier at cost
With stands £700

(and that is for speakers that in their non-clone version would cost you thousands). The build on these are better than originals and were made by a former Wilson engineer. And the drivers (according to a speaker builder expert I know) are arguably better than original Focal)

New pictures of these beautifully made Wilson copies.
As now selling without stands should be able to courier/Royal Mail (2 parcels) or can demo on the Norfolk coast (but not on the beach).

Gentle Thursday BUMP.
These are still available and still in my opinion a fantstic opportunity to get the expensive, lovely easy to listen to Wilson sound for peanuts!

I appreciate only too well the "taking a punt" aspect. But thing is if you heard them you'd most likely have them in a shot.

I'll fold my tail and horns away.

Now available WITH or WITHOUT speaker stands.
I am nothing if not flexible will sell together, or stands or speakers seperately.
Whichever, quite a speaker bargain for someone.

These were mine until 2012. I cannot recall who I bought them from, nor who I sold them to, but perhaps someone here remembers buying them from me back then.

I was interested to check back to origination, reason I asked Oldius.

I do know they were made by a Wilson engineer and I also know that previous owner Chris (a Wammer) did a superb refurb design job and had stands made specially. A speaker expert friend has told me that the build quality exceeds original Wilsons, and has the hallmark of being made by an enthusiast! They are professionally made, most definitely not DIY.

Bump before I put them on Botany Bay.
Should have gone a while ago and I really need the space rather than having them as objects d'art.

I also have more info on provenance which may be of interest (it was to me). Made by a Wilson engineer as a prototype improvement on the so-called Wilson Watt "Bookshelf" - the improvement being build quality, possibly also sound but i cannot verify. A google will show images of the Wilson original. He moved to UK and brought them with him - he was original owner. I don't know name and this would be some years ago.

These are a serious speaker bargain for someone if you like the Wilson sound.
£550 speakers alone, £700 speakers and bespoke stands.

There is a real temptation here, but it is a real leap into the unknown and I know Wilson by reputation only. I have an ASR (in need of batteries), but partnered with Wilson Benesch, which oddly the wife really likes. I'd love to hear them, but am in SE London, which makes it all a bit tricky. I have a second system, running a Luxman valve amp, but it's low powered (15wpc) and seems surprisingly fussy, although the Linn Kans can clearly be improved upon. Hmmm. If you have an urgent need to Fleabag, then so be it, otherwise I will se what I can do.
