Would it be time for a recap?

Evening all,

I've owned a used Tube Technology Prophet Signature preamp for just over a year now and I love it.

I've had it serviced twice because of a few small issues, last one being a fault in the power supply, but apart from that the guy who services my kit said it looks spotless inside.

After I got it back the small buzz was gone and the preamp sounded better than ever.

So I was wondering as it's 15 years old, would it be worth while having the power supply recapped?

And what caps would I use & where to get them?

Think Zia is back running again, my brother got his Unisis done by him before he closed up and he did a brill job and cheap to.

full recap service and revalve, and deep clean posted back and forth for 200 quid.

worth asking a dealer, musicarch I think still sells his amps so ask Donald to ask for you. But Donald has a guy that makes his amps so may well be able to sort for you. I'm meeting him first week sept and could deliver for you and if complete could return it to you again on my return about 12 days later.
