Unilet to show off Facts at PMC open day

fact12_01The Unilet Sound & Vision PMC Open Day on Saturday 13th July will be the first opportunity for the country’s music and hi-fi lovers to experience the much-anticipated new fact.12 loudspeakers at their UK in-store debut.

The Unilet Open Day runs from 10am to 5pm on Saturday 13th July at 35 High Street, New Malden, Surrey, KT3 4BY

Tom Barron, UK consumer sales manager for PMC, has chosen to bring the fact.12s to the New Malden store in recognition of Unilet’s long and successful relationship with the brand. With a large and loyal PMC customer base, Tom’s demonstrations and talks about the development of the new fact series flagship model are sure to attract a substantial audience. Presentations will take place at 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm and 4.30pm and places must be booked in advance by contacting Unilet.

In contrast to previous years’ Unilet Open Days, the day is being given over to a single manufacturer, with PMC providing the speakers for each of the three demonstration areas. The fact.12 will take the main stage in the primary listening room and will be powered by PMC distributed Bryston BP26 and 7BSST2 amplification, fed with source material through the Bryston BDP-2 Music Player and BDA-2 DAC.

Downstairs in the newly renovated main showroom, visitors will be able to experience the PMC MB2SE speakers. These large-scale speakers are the domestic variant of the professional studio monitors used in major recording studios around the world and will showcase the origins of The Professional Monitor Company’s heritage. Not for the faint hearted, the MB2SE features 12” woofers for unrivalled bass performance and the world famous PMC75 midrange, which enables listeners to delve right into the heart of the music. Powering the speakers will be Bryston’s 28BSST2 amplifiers, delivering upwards of 2000 watts.

Home cinema enthusiasts are not forgotten, with the THX certified cinema room hosting another PMC speaker system. With a long track record in movie soundtrack production, PMC was the speaker of choice for Thomas Newman’s Skyfall soundtrack scoring process and so what better speakers to use to demonstrate home cinema. The critically acclaimed PMC twotwo active series, plus SB100 subwoofer, will be partnered with the ultimate home cinema processer, the Bryston SP3.

The Unilet store has recently undergone a major refurbishment, creating a modern and vibrant environment in which to demonstrate the best hi-fi and home cinema equipment to the most discerning customers from London and the south. The 2013 Open Day is the first opportunity many will have had to experience the remodelled facility.

Unilet’s Vernon Hamblin says, “This year we are changing the format of our Open Day and will be running a more relaxed and chilled out kind of a day, with great tunes, great products and the opportunity for us to spend more time interacting with our visitors.” He continues, “We have opted to give the day over to one brand, PMC, who in our opinion is one of the most innovative and important loudspeaker brands around. Their track record with major artists, studios and movies speaks volumes and we are delighted they are going to share three fabulous products with us this year – stunning new speakers in the fact.12, the large scale MB2SE monitors and the brilliant twotwo series. We look forward to welcoming old and new faces on 13th July.”
