You're wasting your breath HFK - the rich kids wouldn't even begin to understand.Nissan Primeras are great (Apart from the bits falling off thing.) Ive had 2 and Id gladly have another in preference to my much newer, supposedly 'better' car
news to me -40 litres of fuel is good for 420 - 450 miles in mixed driving (v. little M.way)(Having said that, I hear the 16v is suprisingly thirsty)
:roll:Not the sharpest tool in the box is he? Bigger car, bigger engine = less fuel economy. Give 'ima :clout:for his own good or he'll start voting Conservative or something equally antisocial...Ah, well- I dunnoI have a friend who has one, and he grumbles frequently about it, although he changed to it from a Ford Ka, and he is a proper tightwad.
He seemed to think he was easily dipping under 40/gallon if he was ham-fisted with the loud pedal
I had the old p10 primera 2ltr egt version. 150 bhp output in a relatively light car with lovely handling. Brilliant car. Mpg on it was better than my new Seat Toledo 1.8T Sport. Doesnt matter how i drive that i cant get anything better than ~35mpg(handling was better too, new car is slightly faster in a straight line, but in real driving conditions i know which id back to be faster driven by someone who can drive). Oh yeh and the primera was comfortable too, whereas my new car has completely shot my back to bits.Craig wrote:news to me -40 litres of fuel is good for 420 - 450 miles in mixed driving (v. little M.way)(Having said that, I hear the 16v is suprisingly thirsty)
would have though bigger, heavier newer versions will be thirstier mind...
dunno. I drive a 54 plate Saab 9-3 diesel. almost 50 to the gallon. there's 2 versions of the engine. 120bhp and 150. I've got the 120. wife wanted a safe family car sowe got one of those ex-dem.saved about £5k off the new price too. road tax is quite low due to low-ish emmisions. so I can take up as much road space as the BMW sales twats in suits who have high power low economy penis extensions. and it's more economical to run than my previous car - a suzuki ignis.Craig wrote::roll:Not the sharpest tool in the box is he? Very nice car that, but being diesel you might perhaps be entitled expectsuch goodeconomy...earl of sodbury wrote:dunno. Performance wise that was the series to have, handled and went beautifully - even the basic versions.earl of sodbury wrote:I had the old p10 primera 2ltr egt version. 150 bhp output in a relatively light car with lovely handling. New primeras are awful cars. P10s 90-96 are the best. P11 that replaced it is OK but a tad heavier.
dunno, it was a fun car, and the only small car in its class that would take a hardshell guitar case width wise in the boot. which was my sole criterion for buying it. besides it was replacing aSwiftkennyk wrote:Very nice car that, but being diesel you might perhaps be entitled expectsuch goodeconomy...earl of sodbury wrote:dunno. Suzuki Ignis? How drunk were you when you bought that?Brave man admitting it here...fold flat seat so it was almost a van in some respects too, and doesn't look like a shopping trolley like the Wagon R. I can't quite put my finger on what looks wrong with that one.
vfm the ignis was a great car. pity about the residual value.
with eyesight like that I'm surprised you're even allowed on the roadand doesn't look like a shopping trolley like the Wagon R. I can't quite put my finger on what looks wrong with that one.
Nice. Should eave some cash for a hifi upgrade too!Well i might be returning to the Primera fold. Theres a nice late p10 model near me that im going to take a look at. Then i can get rid of theSeat Toledo 1.8Tthats killing my back.
