2. One for the phono amp* one for the CDP. But that has a multi input DAC, so I switch those inputs for CD or streamer.
* But when I buy the phono stage for the Accuphase, it will be one plus one.
5, phono stage, SACD player, Tuner, Reel to Reel/CD/Cassette recorders via a 6-way switch box and Radio Paradise via a Dac and balanced cables from my study.
You can listen to only 1 source at a time. If we forget the number of switched contacts a signal has to go through (OK I know there are some who say we shouldn't) then if you have >1 CD player why not route those through another switch box on their way to the CD i/p on the preamp? In other words if you need a large number of inputs why not switch them separately?
My current preamp has 3 line inputs, 2 phono inputs, 2 tape loops, and 2 outputs. That is not enough line level inputs. Thinking of bypassing the phono pre ins and making them line level, should be just enough then.
What i would like to plug in:
Traditionally I have used only one, for phono stage, but I have recently added a DAC & a headphone amp via a switch box for vinyl listening late at night.
1 - for my phono stage.
I also have the optional DAC board fitted in my amp, so have my streamer going into that via optical. If I didn't have this, I would use the onboard streamer DAC, and therefore 2 pairs of RCA.
