I can't stand Blunt. Tuneless andinsipid songs sung by a bloke equipped with one of the most annoying voices ever.

Wow the K household is obviously in tune with the national psyche - we've got the top 4 sellers.

Let me say right now - James Blunt has been banished to the wife's car........I could always bring it along to the hut tomorrow:shock:

Regards

Well, that's as chuffing depressing as the singles list: have all of 2 - Killers & Doves, but bought Hot Fuss when it first came out in 2004, so does that still count?

But then, best-selling singles & albums lists always were: I remember 1976 for early punk stuff, but the best-selling stuff was all disco...

No offence to anyone:peace: but I find it truly bizarre :Not Sure:that people who have spent a lot of money on their systems to reproduce music have so little of the music on the list :Not Sure:I appreciate that people have different tastes and that there is an awful lot of shit on the list but there are alsonumerous good or excellent albums.:Not Sure:

I agree Chewie. Although I like to buy what I can get hold of in the pop/rock scene on vinyl, I buy quiet a lot of classical on CD through the coarse of a year. You must admit those two hundred titles are only a tiny percentage of the vast amount of music thats available.

I own 32 of these albums , good to see Nirvana and Pink Floyd selling well tho.

Checking the list tho , it's either stinky fingered young girls or masturbating males that buy music , not Audiophools

Chewie, I do spend mucho dosh on music (seem to hit the marketeers "£50 man" demographic), but being a curmudgeonly middle-aged git, with some rather obscure & esoteric tastes, I simply cannot stand (in whichever year you like) most of the stuff that sells by the bucket load. Bear in mind that in the appropriate thread my favourite albums of 2005 were by the likes of Damien Jurado, Mark Mulcahy, Sigur Ros, then re-issues of Harold Budd & Van Der Graaf Generator, oh and a late mention for some Klaus Schulze re-issues.

So I'm never going to have more than a small handful of any year's best sellers.

Happy listening,

Boxer

Chewie, the odd 'new music' purchase aside, I'm a rock dinosaur. Hence to me nearly everything on that list sucks. Rest assured though, I buy and listen to music mate - over 2000 cd's at last count (over a year ago.)
