I hope so, only heard a Linn system, mono block amps, Linn pre, Linn cd, b&w 840 d speakers, and I was not impressed, so would like to hear a Linn system to see what it really do
You must've missed a few Scalford and Kegworth shows :D

A little reminder , The team need to know and let the hotel know that the WAM drunk the bar dry at Salford Hall ,
Yes I contributed to this mighty fine effort 🍺🍻🍷🥃🍸🍹...:)
they have been warned but it will be made VERY clear when the team visit again, hence the meeting with management

Just a general question ….

The majority of the rooms are sleep/exhibit arnt they ?
Given squeezing two washing machine sized bass units into a room, potentially our plan was to set up and take part but as we are 50 mins away not actually sleep in the room - though we are still willing to pay the full room amount and come for breakfast etc if this will be acceptable.
yes. a few smaller rooms for sleep only

It is great to see the Show being put back on the Map, the locality is looking very attractive as well, a partner could attend and not feel confined to the Hotel Facilities for the duration.

When looking at the Hotel, I have seen a few very attractive spaces to demonstrate in belonging to the conference rooms facilities.
Are these rooms possibly? going to made available, and offered in conjunction with a Room Hire/ Evening Meal arrangement as well.

Me and my bowels are looking forward to your room... Question: will normal straight leg jeans suffice, or should I be wearing my old bellbottoms for maximum bass flappage?

Skinny jeans would control the potential ‘brown noise’ effects ….though I’d plump more for northern soul 42” parallels which wouldnt impede any unfortunate outflowimg 😂

Just wondering if the top floor is out of bounds and presumably let out to other guests what are the security arrangements around leaving expensive kit in temporarily unoccupied rooms?

Better still chain Keith to your equipment if you provide whiskey , pies and cake no one would dare to approach him .

I only live about ten miles from the old Wigan Casino, so the parallels should be no problem. But will the hotel management be ok with me putting chalk on the floor to help me do me spins?

Took me a while but I finally got my little bear brain to work and I have the ultimate solution .

I will take a photo of myself and have a number of prints made . These can be secured to your door and they will guarantee to frighten children, horses and passers by . Job Solved .

Only one, maybe already in use?
See above really scary option of my picture and no one will come within ten feet of any room . Please note that it is essential that these photos are removed before the show is open to the public or I can not be held responsible for the stampede to the exit .

Just a though and for the sake of green credentials all photos can be retained and then reused to keep children and pets away from the fire .

OK as you all now know we are booked into the Britannia North Staffordshire hotel in the centre of Stoke-on-Trent and as previously announced the 2022 Wam show will be 1st and 2nd October with the traditional format: a Saturday set up, public visiting on the Sunday between 10 am and 5 pm.

VISITORS
There will be a limit on maximum visitor tickets due to fire regulations. We plan on advanced ticket sales in the summer at a discount, any remaining tickets on the door will not be discounted.
The rule will be no "I'm a helper for xx" tickets, if not staying on Saturday night then a ticket IS required.
Ticket HOLDERS staying locally are welcome to visit on Saturday evening, and also to book a meal (see below). Pricing will be announced shortly.

EXHIBITORS
So just to explain the financial situation; the 2020 show was cancelled the Thursday before the planned show, clearly totally the right decision as the government announced Lockdown on the following Monday.

However, the Kegworth hotel held the 'wam to the contract - as we were too late cancelling we lost a large sum of money which Rachel and Roo have funded since, this is very much appreciated by us.

Some members have left their payments 'in the pot' so to speak and not requested refunds and that is also very much appreciated and their bookings will be honoured and prioritised without further payment unless major changes and dealt with on a case by case basis by the allocation team.

The next priority will be given to those who were previously down to exhibit at Kegworth. After that forum members will be offered the remaining rooms - an entry/kit sheet for expressions of interest by exhibitors will be put up by Maverick late March, likely to be released in phases.

Hence as we have explained this show has to be priced to be self-financing and cash flow will be tricky for us this year. We require ALL payments to be made by 31ST JULY 2022 as we have to pay this hotel WELL in advance. Roo is working on a payments system. Any entries not paid by this date will be CANCELLED, no ifs or buts, and those rooms offered to anyone on the waitlist, which we will manage.

There are various sizes of rooms, the team will be visiting again in March to measure some typical bedrooms so we can inform exhibitors of what to expect.

Rooms will be priced as follows, this is the cost to us, no uplifts.
Twin/double will be £45 per night, per room for 2 nights (Saturday & Sunday)
Family rooms that are larger will be £60 per night, per room for 2 nights (Saturday & Sunday) (however there are only 2 of these available on floor 2)
Single sleep rooms will be £40 per night per room, for 2 nights (Saturday & Sunday) (limited numbers of these will be available)
Included in the above are elements the hotel normally charges extra for.

Remember: It is a requirement of the hotel that full names, as well as forum handles, are used. When Maverick puts up the room request sheet(s) there will be space for this, this is NOT optional and if not provided a room will simply not be allocated.

Additionally, mandatory public liability insurance will be charged per exhibitor room as is usual. More on this will follow.

We are also mindful that we have driven a hard bargain with this hotel but we do need them to feel that it is worth their while so they want us back next year. So we have arranged for a Saturday dinner in the hotel dining room (see pictures), we did consider making this mandatory for exhibitors but have decided against that.

Do remember that the hotel will only make money really from food and drink so we would ask you all to take this option please; dinner will be served as a buffet of 3 courses at a cost of £10 per person and those staying Saturday evening will be required to book this in advance. We have a sample menu consisting of 3 starters, 6 main courses (incl. veggie option), 3 deserts (incl cake!). We hope to meet with the chef when we next visit and discuss.

Buffet cooked breakfast will be £5 per person on Sunday and Monday (for those staying over on Sunday for the curry outing). There is a smaller, specific bar in the restaurant and obviously, drinks are extra, charging to rooms will not be allowed in any bar.

REMINDER:
we are keen that the hotel will welcome us back next year as finding a venue has been a massive effort so details such as returning your room to good order for housekeeping to clean on Monday is IMPORTANT as we have managed to avoid their requirement for a security deposit. Your support in this will be required and we will check rooms with management on Monday.
