JJ Cale. Sensitive kind circa 1974. Several covers including Santana and Clapton and friends (available in hi res)
my fave is John Mayall’s 1990 cover.

another Dylan cover. Knockin On Heaven‘ s door. Guns and Roses. Joan Baez covered several as they were “friends”
joan Baez also covered an old song called “ the house of the rising sun” a few years before the famous Eric Burdon and the Animals version

We were just discussing this topic the other day and I offered up this one.

The original

The cover - I like this one better. Great vibe.

Both a good by the Tavares version just strikes all the right notes for me.

Here is one more that has been debated quite a bit

Original

I like the hopelessness of the 2nd version. Very sad and depressing but seems to impart the sentiment of the song in a way that seems appropreiate for the material

Eddie and the Hot Rods ( think of a punk version of Dr. Feelgood)

Live at the Marquee EP - 4 great covers.

Gloria/Satisfaction ( Medley - Van Morrison and The Rolling Stones on speed together!!!)
96 tears ( Mark and The Mysterians, who?)
Get Out of Denver Baby ( Bob Seger)

Exciting stuff

Rather obscure German material. I came across the cover first which is rather different...

This cover immediately came to my mind. It made me hear the song in a different light and appreciate what a great melody it has.
