So, come on then Beobrothers - what have you?

I'll start the ball rolling with:

Beolab 8000 system - Beogram 8002, Beocord 8000, Beomaster 8000, Beovox MS150.2 all on their original SC80 cabinet

Beosystem 5000 - Beogram/Beocord/Beomaster 5000 plus Beogram CD50. Also Beovox Penta speakers awaiting restoration to join all this.

Beovision Avant 32DVD Television plus Beosound 9000 with Beolab 8000 (front) and Beolab 6000 (rear) speakers

Beolab 5000 amplifier, Beomaster 5000 tuner and 1960s variant Beogram 1800 turntable

Beogram 6000 quadrophonic and Beogram TX2 turntables

And a fair collection of keyrings, bottle openers, golf towels, golf balls, golf tees, polo shirts, promotional oddities and a milk jug!

Beogram 8002, Beosound 1.

The Beogram 8002 I bought with a pair of (knackered) mmc4 cartridges from a guy claiming to be a B&O repair specialist after hearing Adam's at Scalford. I had always admired the engineering of the arm, motor and suspension. It was not a well repaired item...

I then bought a "mint" Beogram 9000 from a B&O dealer's eBay site, explaining to him that I wanted it for the "little used" MMC2 and that I would be selling on the turntable with no cartridge. You've guessed, the cartridge was completely knackered. I returned the Beogram 9000 with promise of a refund which has never come.

That put me off B&O dealers I didn't know and following the closure of our local shop in Newbury I have not considered anything else.

I had been on the cusp of getting Beolab 5s.

Unlike some I admire the engineering as well as the styling, particularly the turntables, cartridges and speakers.

I did have one B&O unit with mediocre sound but it was ergonomic and useful and had long wave so I could listen to the Today programme whilst getting ready for work in France. That was nicked in a burglary.

My first library job entailed working in Whitley Bay Library where I did an 'Illustrated Talk' on the Beatles***, using a B+O Cassette deck of the period (1974). They had the // tracking turntable too!

Quite avant-garde for 70s! (and the Library was too...da-da!)

*** Simply because I went to same school as 2 Beatles and knew George.

I've got a phone, a bottle opener and countless catalogues and magazines...

I grew up with a Beomaster at home so B&O has a special place in my heart. I'll be back, I just know it.

I've been sooooo close to a pair of Beolab5s at least 3 times in the last couple of years...one day

Great thread Adam, and long overdue.

My latest purchase, which I have been very happy with, was These

The best and most used Bang & Olufsen product I have bought over the years, and I have bought many, was my Beosound 1. I bought it for the kitchen, it gets put on first thing in the morning, everytime I enter the house (front door through kitchen). When ironing, cooking, making coffee etc.

I also used to own one of these 5000 systems which I sold for more than I paid for it second hand :D .

Previously I have owned one of These, which was given away  .

I bought one of these, which I bought in Dubai about 40 years ago, and brought it back to the UK, in a suitcase .

My first B&O purchase was a 3000-2 Tuner-Amp, which I bought in Germany, also about 40 years ago, and brought back to the UK. I travelled from where I was based by bus, train, bus, shop, bus, train, bus, and back to my base with it boxed and under my arm
confused-5.gif
. Sold it about 20 years ago for £100 to someone who always wanted to own some B&O kit. Fond memories.

I managed to get given by my local dealer, one of these books

My son, with some influence from his dad  , has a Beosound 4 with a pair of These.

He also owns and drives an Aston Martin, fitted with B&O speakers, not that I am at all jealous

.

I have a remote keyring, but dropped it down the back of a fitted kitchen unit, where it remains to this day  .

I also own a bottle opener B&O key ring, which I carry around every day, I think that's all :p .

Owned quite a few B&O bits in the past and often go back to them in one form or another

Currently on the look out for some Beolab 5's but the recent auctions on eBay all looked a bit dodgy to me.

These are what I have at the moment

Beolab 1's currently on eBay

Beosound 3000

Beolab 4,s

Beosound 4 about to go on eBay

Quite fancy one of the linear trackers like the 4004, but the cartridge issue scares me off.

I've got a pair of Beolab 3 active speakers, a Beosound 4 CD/DAB/pre amp unit and a faulty Beogram CDX my Dad bought in 1986.

The Beosound 4/Beolab 3 is a great little system. If I hadn't bought back my old Harbeths last month I'd still be using it as my main system.

I can't really justify keeping it in view of the Harbs coming back, so they'll soon be on eBay :cs:

The CDX was hoping to get repaired until I moved up to Leicester... I'll get it sorted one day. I'll never sell it regardless!

Used to have some beovox cx100s I inherited from my father. One fell on my head while I was asleep once, split my eyebrow open - blood everywhere. Sharp aluminium corners mmm. Sounded good for the size though!

I've a Beocentre 7000, complete with matching remote control and Beovox S55 speakers - sounds great when it gets used, but that's rarely as it's at my parents' place rather than with me. Doubt I'll ever sell it; will probably end up as a bedroom system when I get a place of my own.

That said, the price of a new cartridge is what got me buying turntables...

Beogram 1500 - the mid'70s version (broken/stored)

Beomaster 1900 (stored)

Beovox S40 'speakers (stored)

Beogram 5005 - stored from '92 until recently when it was recommisioned for use in a system in my study. New drive belt fitted but TT still working after 20+ years in the loft (even the pesky mice didn't get to it). With Beobloke's help I was able to confirm that the cartridge was 'knack'ed' and I am now awaiting a replacement, but that's all it needs. It'll be connected to a Denon RCD-M39DAB via an anonymous phono stage bought on t'interweb from some B&O cable supplier and into a pair of Q Acoustic 2010is. An eclectic mix of components, I admit - or a lash-up if you prefer - but I tried it with a cartridge on loan from Beobloke and it sounded great. It made me smile and, after all, this hobby is supposed to be fun ... :D
